The very first thing that you need to do to be an affiliate marketer is get a product to promote. After you sign up for your free linkshare account you have to chose a company ( or two ) to advertise for. I'm sure your thinking "well who should I chose to advertise for?" That is something no one can tell you. Only you know what is the best company for you to advertise but I will tell you HOW to choose.
Your best bet is going to be choosing something that you know about. Start with one of your hobbies, a product you already have and love or something you would like to learn more about. It really doesn't matter what company you advertise for because every one of those companies will pay you for driving traffic to their site. Sure some will pay you more then others but if you cant drive the traffic to their site does it matter how much their paying? Its always best to go with what you know when you get started.
